From 99, I involved in tobacco control. Specially, I joined WBB trust as a media officer. I have done several successful works on media advocacy for tobacco control. I worked in media against Gold leaf advertisement ship voyage of discovery in 99. We organized successful media campaign against voyage of discovery.

In 2001, I actively became involved with South East Asian Anti Tobacco (SEAAT) Flame campaign. It was successful campaign for create more awareness about tobacco hazards and its also popular campaign for tobacco control activities in Bangladesh.

In 2001-02, as a WBB employee, I coordinated Divisional workshop on Tobacco control in all division of Bangladesh. It was first formal divisional workshop for NGOs involvement on tobacco control. We focused in this workshop -why need tobacco control how local NGOs are involve in tobacco control. Many NGOs actively involved in tobacco control after this workshop.

2003-04, I have done media advocacy to sign and ratify FCTC, passed tobacco control law. I was responsible to implement a year long project `Media involvement in the FCTC’, funded by WHO. It helps to understand journalist, policy maker, tobacco control advocate about FCTC. In this time, WBB also organized divisional workshop on tobacco control for sensitize tobacco control movement and raise voice to demanding tobacco control law from different areas of Bangladesh.

In 2003, WBB and BATA organized two day long 1st National workshop on tobacco control. It was successful workshop for understanding tobacco control movement all over Bangladesh. In 2005, 2nd National workshop on tobacco control held just after passes the tobacco control law. We discussed about tobacco control law and how local NGOs play active role for implement the law. In 2007, 3rd National workshop on tobacco control held, I was coordinator of this workshop. We focused in this workshop about tobacco control law weakness and how we play active role to amendment the law following by FCTC.

From 99 to till now, I am involved with many researches about tobacco control. In 2000, Hungry for Tobacco one of them. It shows the relation between tobacco and poverty, tobacco and food, tobacco and nutrition. In 2001, I have done another research Tobacco Farmers in Bangladesh: Exploitation at the hand of the tobacco companies. I wrote and edited more than 15 books for tobacco control.

By this time, I organized more than 100 workshops, including capacity building workshop on FCTC, Tobacco control law development. I also organized more than 100 seminars, roundtables in last 10 years on tobacco control issues.

From the beginning of BATA (Bangladesh Anti Tobacco Alliance), I am working media and publication section in last 10 years. I edit BATA anniversary and World no tobacco day publications in every year. I wrote more than 1000 press release on basis different type of BATA event. From World No Tobacco Day 99, I wrote articles in every year. By this time, I wrote more than hundred articles in newspaper about tobacco control issues.
